The A-Priority mission of the Pawnee County Economic Development Commission, each part as a constant priority to receive equal attention, is:

  • The retention, expansion and prosperity of agricultural production and agri-business.
  • The retention, expansion and prosperity of the State Complex.
  • The retention, expansion and prosperity of businesses and institutions existing in the county.
  • The creation of new commerce and jobs.

We are here to provide assistance to businesses and entrepreneurs, including relocation to or within Pawnee County, workforce recruitment, business development and expansion, and financial resources.

Who We Are





Ben was born and raised in Scott City, KS and lived there until graduating from High School in 2002. Ben furthered his education while attending Dodge City Community College and Washburn University. He met his wife Jenny Ramsey (Schartz) while attending Washburn University. Jenny is a native of Larned, KS. Ben and Jenny moved back to Larned in 2012 and plan to stay and raise their children here. Ben has worked for Bank of the West in Larned since 2014 as the Branch Manager. Ben is involved with the Larned Chamber of Commerce and Pawnee County Economic Development Commission. He is also involved with Jr. Indian Youth Football, Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, and is a member of the Knights of Columbus.



Born in Great Bend and raised in Otis, Jamie and his wife (and their three children) have lived in Larned for 5 years. He has worked for the USDA-NRCS for 13 years and is currently the District Conservationist for Pawnee County. Jamie is also the President of the Pawnee Valley Pheasants Forever Chapter and a member of the Knights of Columbus #2100.




Buddy owned and operated Tabler Furniture, Inc of Larned for over 40 years. He is a graduate of Wisconsin State University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Business. Buddy is a past president of the Larned Area Chamber of Commerce and Larned Rotary Club. He currently writes sports columns for the Great Bend Tribune and Tiller and Tiller and broadcasts football and basketball games for Larned High School on Eagle Radio. Buddy also serves on the Board of Directors for Country Living of Larned.



Pam graduated from dodge city high school in 1976  then went on to beauty school and graduated in 1977. She moved to Rozel in 1981 where her husband is the manager of Golden Valley. She has five kids and 9 grandkids. She spends her time serving on Rozel City Council and is the president of Rozel Pride.
