Member Spotlight: The Father's House of Larned

In 1981 a group of people began meeting together hoping to start a church in Larned. On Easter Sunday of 1981, Pastor Duane & Sue Kershner held the first official service of New Covenant Church. In 1990, New Covenant Church purchased it’s current facility, formerly the Hammond Holiday Home.

In 2002 a group of people from New Covenant Church approached Bishop Quintin Moore and The Father’s House of Hutchinson requesting apostolic leadership and pastoral care. After several meetings with the church, on Mother’s Day 2002, Pastor Tim & Jackie Oglesby began driving from their home in Buhler to Larned every Sunday. In August of that same year Pastor Brett Hill began traveling to Larned several times a week to provide Pastoral care, build a Youth Ministry, and help with over sight in the office. Late 2002, the church unanimously voted to join The Father’s House Network of Churches.

Since 2002, New Covenant Church has gone through many changes. In August of 2002 the youth began meeting together. The name was changed to The Father’s House of Larned in January 2003. Additional land was purchased north of our facility in March of 2004 to help facilitate future growth. In August of 2004, Doug & Lisa Johnson began Golden Rule Preschool. August of 2004 also began the first year of Kids For Christ, an after school program for children grades K-6. November of 2004 after two years of living in Larned and serving the church, Brett Hill became the Senior Pastor.

On June 27, 2009 Pastor Brett Hill was married to Tiffany Barth. Pastor Brett has since moved and taken a position with The Father’s House of Hutchinson. On July 5, 2009 Pastor Michael Pfortmiller became the Senior Pastor of The Father’s House of Larned.

The Father’s House remains committed to Supporting missions, world wide and regional on a monthly basis. The Father’s House is also committed to fulfilling the Great Commission by Making Disciples.
