48th Annual Antique Show

It is that time of year again, the Larned Area Chamber of Commerce Antiques and Collectibles Show will be held February 9th through the 11th at the Larned Community Center. This is an event that you do not want to miss. Sixteen exhibitors from a four state region will be exhibiting and selling at this year’s show, each bringing their own unique set of items and collectibles. You are bound to find something of interest to you! 

The Antique Show’s hours are Friday, February 9th from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday, February 10th from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Sunday, February 11th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. From 1-3 pm on Sunday, Bill Starr with Star Antiques will be available for appraisals. You receive two free appraisals with your paid entry to the show. This is a great opportunity for you to bring your collectibles and get them appraised! 

This year’s show will feature a range from Victorian art glass, perfumes, sterling silver, hand stitched quilts to old prints, match safes, pocket knives, vintage costume jewelry and comics, coins, furniture, and much more!  

Those showing at this year’s show include, Necessities, Padron Memories, Creative Connections, Bill Starr Antiques, Hirsch’s Corner, Traditions by J&M, Heavenly Treasures, Miscellany Antiques, Sandhills Crest, Hands of Time and Avenues Antiques, Richard Basham’s Antiques, Kristin Keith’s Antiques, Neal Stanley’s Antiques, Ellinwood Emporium, Dolton’s Antiques and Twisted Vintage.

The cost of admission is $2 per person and children 10 and under are free.  In the great tradition of the Antique Show and Sale, food concessions will be provided by Faye Grandy of Sweet Traditions along with homemade pies by PEO and Pawnee Valley Community Hospital Auxiliary.

Every year, the Larned Area Chamber of Commerce kicks off the Christmas season with an Annual Christmas Celebration that runs from November through December. During this time-frame, you will find many community events and opportunities that are fun for the whole family. 

We start out by kicking off the Holiday Season with our annual Punch Card Program! This is always a great time to get an early start on your Christmas shopping and to get entered to win some prizes! 

The first Saturday of December, Larned hosts its Annual Christmas Parade, themed, A Storybook Christmas, and the Larned Area Chamber Ambassadors put on the Kiddie Movie Day. The second Saturday of December, Larned Civic PRIDE helps plan and organize the Kiddie Shopping day. 

Throughout this time, there are other events and activities to take part in throughout Pawnee County, including Burdett and Rozel's Annual Christmas Celebrations, business window decorating contest, Santa House and more!

Last Chance Golf Tournament

Join the Larned Area Chamber of Commerce on Sunday, October 1st for a final opportunity to partake in the game of golf before winter sets in. Entering its 27th year, the Last Chance Golf Tournament will provide one last tournament opportunity. The tournament is run as a 4-Person Team Scramble. The entry fee is $200 per team which includes a 70% payback based on 18 teams and prizes. Mulligans are $5 each.

Don’t miss this opportunity. Enter today! Teams check-in from 8:00 to 9:00 am on Sunday, followed by a shotgun start at 9:15 am.

Santa Fe Trail Days

Hitch your wagon and head on over to Larned, Kansas on June 9th, 10th, and 11th of 2017 for three days of fun! This annual community event features: carnival fairway, live music, beer garden, hamburger feed, concession and craft vendors, parade, car show, movie, ice cream social, poker run, wagon rides, and much more!
 
Santa Fe Trail Days is entering its 25th year and we couldn’t be more thrilled! It’s an event you don’t ever want to miss. Hosted by the Larned Area Chamber of Commerce, the Chamber strives to improve the quality of life for the citizens of Pawnee County, making it a better place to live, work and play. Community Banquet

As the annual kick-off event to Santa Fe Trail Days, this special event is held to recognize the inspiring individuals, businesses, and organizations of our community. During the banquet, awards will be given to those featured as this year's: Large Business, Small Business, Organization/Non-profit, Volunteer, Emerging Leader, and Empowering Leader.Below, you will find the list of the awards given out annually along with a short description of each. 

This is a great time to get together as a community and recognized all the work that each and every one of our businesses, organizations, and community members do on a daily basis to enhance our community and to make it a better place to live, work, and play. 

Before the awards are handed out, our Chamber Members are given the opportunity to nominate a(n) individual/business/organization for each award. These nominations are then compiled. Chamber Members then will be given the opportunity to vote for one individual/business/organization out of the top nominations with winners to be revealed at the Annual Banquet. 

Awards

Large Business of the Year
Chamber Business with more than 20 employees. May possess these qualities: excellent customer services, philanthropic, community-minded, workforce development.

Small Business of the Year
Chamber Business with less than 20 employees. May possess these qualities: excellent customer services, philanthropic, community-minded, workforce development.

Non-Profit Organization/Civic Group of the Year
Chamber Organization (i.e. civic group, church, non-profit) that assists individuals through various programs or outreach–very community-oriented.

Volunteer of the Year
Individual within or outside of the Chamber (Ambassadors, Board of Directors) whom goes above and beyond to assist in various events, committees, or programs. This individual does not necessarily have to be a leader or brainstormer, but rather a “do-er.”

Emerging Leader
Passionate individual within or outside of the Chamber (Ambassadors, Board of Directors) who leads a movement or union of people. This movement may be a kind of lifestyle, a business environment, a steering committee, or just a group of individuals. (39 years of age and below). 

Empowering Leader
Passionate individual within or outside of the Chamber (Ambassadors, Board of Directors) who leads (and empowers) a movement or union of people. This movement may be a kind of lifestyle, a business environment, a steering committee, or just a group of individuals. (40 years of age and above).

*Chamber Members with multiple memberships, have the ability to vote more than once or count their ballot X amount of times.
